DIC fasteners are manufacturers of locking nuts, mainly used when nuts are required to resist loosening in the presence of vibration or torque. Lock nuts are mainly made of stainless steel and other finishes. When the nuts are placed on the bolts, they are not easily loosened, which makes them suitable for fixing the wheels in the axle or in the car engine, otherwise machine vibration will loosen the fasteners. Lock nuts come in a wide range of styles, grades, and finishes. The most common styles of locking nuts are Anco and Tri lok nuts. The Anco type locking nut is a self-locking nut with a ratchet pin made of stainless steel, while the Tri lok type is a "popular torque" anti loosening nut due to the thread winding on the top thread of the nut. A locking nut with an integrated locking mechanism can minimize the cost of the shaft as a key is not required. Installation is also easier because no locking device is required.
